Description
A collection of glazed ceramic items primarily produced by Wade Ceramics, Stoke-on-Trent. The lot features a large cylindrical cookie jar in cobalt blue with white lettering, topped with a lid modelled as the comic strip character Andy Capp wearing a brown flat cap and spectacles. Also included is a heart-shaped trinket box with a tiered lid, decorated with pink rose sprays and gilt rims, accompanied by its original cream-coloured presentation box marked WADE in gold lettering. The collection contains several figurines, notably a character modelled as Aunt Sally from the Worzel Gummidge series in a teal dress and chequered apron, and a smaller figure in a blue bonnet. Two pairs of salt and pepper shakers are present: one pair as snowmen with black top hats and scarves, and another pair as male characters in white laboratory coats and blue waistcoats. A decorative figurine depicts a seated teddy bear with a red bow next to a Christmas tree.
