Description

This collection of amateur photographic ephemera consists of three fitted wooden storage boxes containing a large quantity of 35mm colour transparency slides. The slides are housed in various plastic mounts in cream, dark blue, and grey. Several of the cream-coloured mounts are embossed with the brand name TITANIA in capital letters within a stylised border. Each box features a paper index sheet affixed to the interior of the lid, providing a chronological and thematic record of the contents. One index sheet bears the printed logo for the British retailer BOOTS in the lower right corner, suggesting the film was processed or the materials supplied by the chemist. The handwritten entries document travel, nature, and domestic life in the United Kingdom during the mid-1960s. Noted subjects include Wigmore Church, Burnham Creek, Hess Garden, Rose Garden 1966, Wedding 1964, Thames at Marlow, and various floral and family studies. Dates recorded on the indices range from 1963 to 1966. The storage cases are constructed from light-coloured wood with metal hinges and front clasps, featuring internal wooden dividers to organise the slides.
