Lot 318:
Description
A 19th-century style D-shaped cooking pot with a fitted lid and integrated handle. The body and lid are constructed from sheet brass, featuring a tinned grey-tone metal band around the upper rim of the body for reinforcement. The long, split-fork handle is made of forged iron and is secured to the lid with two copper rivets. A corresponding iron bracket is riveted to the side of the body to facilitate the handle attachment. The utilitarian design is characteristic of British military or travel equipment from the Napoleonic or Victorian eras. No maker marks, stamps, or inscriptions are visible on the item.
