Lot 274:
Description
This lot consists of two items of decorative white earthenware. The first item is a tall, cylindrical coffee pot or pitcher of mid-century design. It features a square-set handle, a short pouring spout, and a fitted ceramic lid with a black glaze. The body is decorated with a transfer-printed botanical motif of large daisy-like flowers and foliage in a palette of muted greens, greys, and ochre. The second item is a miniature ceramic vessel modelled in the form of a garden trug or basket with an overhead handle. It is hand-painted with a spray of three blue flowers with yellow centres and green leaves. The handle is finished with a textured, sponged, or brushed dark grey pigment. No maker’s marks are visible on the exterior or base of either piece.
