Description
A cast iron stand in the Rococo Revival style, likely intended as a support for a fireplace companion set. The piece features a circular top ring with three internal support prongs, topped by a heart-shaped finger loop handle. The central vertical stem is knopped and textured, leading to a wide, ornate quadrilobed base. The base is decorated with cast C-scrolls, acanthus foliage, and shell motifs, resting on four integral feet. The surface retains a dark finish, possibly japanned or painted. No manufacturer marks or foundry stamps are visible.
