Lot 268:
Description
A hand-blown art glass decanter and matching stopper produced in a deep teal or emerald green colour. The vessel is designed with a tapered, ovoid body resting on a flared circular foot, leading to a narrow cylindrical neck with a slightly stepped rim. It is paired with a solid glass spherical stopper featuring a heavily textured internal crackle or seafoam effect. The glass body contains small, intentional air bubbles, or seeds, characteristic of the hand-blowing process. The foot is separately applied to the body. No maker marks, signatures, or labels are visible on the base or body. The style and execution are consistent with mid-20th-century studio glass from the 1960s or 1970s, resembling production from British glasshouses such as Whitefriars or contemporary Scandinavian manufacturers.
