Description
A Victorian mahogany writing slope of rectangular construction with a hinged lid. The exterior is fitted with a brass escutcheon and a small rectangular brass cartouche set into the lid. The interior reveals a bi-fold sloped writing surface lined with faded purple velvet. The internal fitment includes a long pen tray and square compartments designed for inkwells. The box is constructed from mahogany with brass hinges and lock mechanism.
