Description
A moulded high-relief plaque constructed from a synthetic material, likely resin or plaster, featuring a dark brown faux-wood finish. The composition illustrates a traditional genre scene of a cottage interior. Two figures, an elderly man and woman in folk attire, are seated on wooden benches flanking a central open hearth. The man is depicted in profile, wearing a hat and smoking a pipe, while the woman wears a headscarf. A large cooking pot is suspended over a fire in the centre of the hearth. The background includes a brick-patterned chimney breast and a mantel ledge above. There are no visible signatures, maker’s marks, or inscriptions on the front of the piece.
