Description
A Mid-Century Modern style gooseneck table or desk lamp of unattributed manufacture. The lamp comprises a stepped cylindrical spotlight shade in brushed aluminium, featuring parallel horizontal cooling vents at the rear. The shade is attached to a flexible chrome-plated gooseneck and fixed stem, which is mounted to a circular white-painted metal base. A white plastic push-button power switch is integrated into the base. The lamp is fitted with a cream-coloured flexible cable and a standard UK three-pin plug. No maker’s marks, characters, or labels are visible on the exterior of the shade or base. The design is characteristic of 1960s and 1970s lighting by manufacturers such as Maclamp or Prova.
