Description
A late 19th-century stained wood overmantel mirror reflecting the Aesthetic Movement style. The architectural frame features a central rectangular mirror plate flanked by smaller side panels and tiered display shelves supported by turned spindles. The upper section contains a shaped and bevelled mirror plate set within a surround decorated with incised fan-shaped sunburst motifs, topped with a moulded cornice. The lower panels are similarly decorated with carved roundels. The construction uses stained wood with a combination of bevelled and flat glass plates.
