Description
A large early 20th-century Jacobean Revival style overmantel or sideboard mirror constructed from dark-stained oak. The frame features a dentil-moulded cornice above a central frieze decorated with a raised rectangular boss. The structure is supported by two pairs of prominent barley-twist columns flanking the central mirror. The side panels are embellished with relief-carved geometric frames and central diamond motifs. The central mirror plate is octagonal in form. The reverse of the frame retains a printed paper retailer’s label for Jones and Higgins Ltd, Complete House Furnishers, Peckham, S.E. Metal mounting brackets are attached to the upper corners of the reverse.
