Lot 204:
Description
A large landscape wall mirror of architectural form, dating to the late 19th or early 20th century. The frame is constructed from mahogany with a dark-stained finish. It features a prominent stepped and moulded cornice above a rectangular mirror plate. The side uprights are designed as pilasters with recessed fluting. The upper corners are accented with square blocks, one of which retains a carved floral rosette. The construction suggests it was originally intended as an overmantel mirror or as part of a larger dressing suite. No maker’s marks or labels are present.
