Description
A mid-20th century vitreous enamel advertising sign for the estate agents Hollier Botteley Nock and Co. The rectangular sign features maroon text set against a white ground. The layout includes the heading FOR SALE APPLY followed by the company name in large block lettering. The lower section provides contact details for two regional branches: Poplar Road, Solihull (TEL. SOLihull 2208) and 14, Temple Street Birmingham, 2 (TEL. MIDland 5688). The use of lettered telephone exchanges and the Birmingham 2 postal district suggests a production date between the 1950s and early 1960s. The sign is constructed from steel with a vitreous enamel finish and includes pre-drilled mounting holes.
