Description
A mid-century modern display cabinet of one-piece construction, typical of British furniture manufacture from the mid-20th century. The unit features a light-toned wood frame, likely beech or maple veneer, with a contrasting figured wood-veneered top. The top is designed with a shaped, slightly bowed front edge. The front is fitted with twin sliding glass doors, each decorated with a gold-tone etched or transfer-printed geometric and foliate pattern. The interior contains two glass shelves. The back panel is divided into two sections, comprising a mirrored base and a foliate-patterned papered upper section. The sliding doors are fitted with recessed black circular finger pulls. The cabinet is supported by four ebonised tapered legs terminating in brass-coloured metal ferrules.
