Lot 142:
Description
A mid-century modern extending dining table, likely of British manufacture and attributed to Alfred Cox. The rectangular top features highly figured walnut veneers with convex ends and a solid wood edge band. The table is constructed with a split in the centre to accommodate an extension mechanism, though no additional leaves are present. It is supported by four tapered round legs crafted from a lighter-coloured solid wood, possibly beech. Faint stamped characters are present on the front edge of the tabletop, though they are not clearly legible.
