Description
An Arts and Crafts style solid oak side or work table, circa 1930s, attributed to the Dutch designer Bas van Pelt for My Home, Den Haag. The rectangular top is constructed from joined solid oak planks with rounded corners, positioned over a sturdy trestle-style base. The base consists of two solid panel supports connected by a single central stretcher, which is secured by four prominent tusk tenons. The design demonstrates the modernist influence on traditional Arts and Crafts forms. No maker marks or labels are visible on the exterior of the piece.
