A large Victorian style overmantel mirror of landscape orientation featuring a classic arched top. The frame is constructed from wood with a multi-layered moulded profile, finished in an aged gilt that has mellowed to a warm, bronzed tone. The lower corners of the frame are accented with carved scroll-shaped terminals. The mirror plate is set within the frame and follows the arched contour of the top. A small white auction lot label is affixed to the top centre of the frame, bearing the handwritten characters GT 29. No maker’s marks or stamps are visible on the front of the piece.
