This collection consists of a set of amber-coloured pressed glass items including a large serving bowl and matching footed dessert bowls. Each piece is decorated with a geometric Art Deco pattern of triangular facets and vertical lines, terminating in a petalled or scalloped rim. The dessert bowls are supported by short stems on square, stepped pedestal bases. This style is consistent with British pressed glass manufacturers of the 1930s and 1940s, and the set is attributed to Sowerby Tyneside Glassware. No manufacturer’s marks are visible on the items.
Large serving bowl: Approximately 21 cm diameter
