This lot comprises a commemorative ceramic loving cup and a collection of decorative ceramic dessert plates. The loving cup is manufactured by Paragon China Limited, Stoke-on-Trent, and is crafted from fine English bone china. It features a twin-handled form with figural handles modelled as gilded lions. The body is decorated with a transfer-printed central commemorative inscription reading To Celebrate the Birth of the First Child of T.R.H. The Prince and Princess of Wales 1982, surrounded by a floral garland and a purple ribbon motif. The rim and foot are finished with gilt lining. The base of the mug bears a backstamp featuring a royal warrant symbol above the words PARAGON, FINE BONE CHINA, MADE IN ENGLAND, and LTD. The cup is housed in its original maroon-coloured fitted presentation box, which features two gold-printed royal warrants on the interior lid for HM Queen Elizabeth II and HM Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother.
The collection of octagonal ceramic plates features a slightly raised rim with a blue-lined edge. Each plate is decorated with transfer-printed floral motifs, including poppies and bluebells, in shades of orange, blue, green, and purple. No maker’s mark is visible on the plates.
