A static display model of a British Rail Class 55 Deltic diesel-electric locomotive, part of the Great British Locomotives collection published by Amercom. The model is constructed from die-cast metal with plastic components and is finished in British Railways two-tone green livery featuring a distinctive yellow stripe along the lower body. The locomotive is marked with the running number D9002 on the cab ends and sides. It carries red nameplates on the bodysides reading THE KING’S OWN YORKSHIRE LIGHT INFANTRY. The model is mounted on a black plastic display plinth which features moulded track detail. A gold-coloured printed label on the plinth identifies the model as 1961: ‘Deltic’ D9002 The King’s Own Yorkshire Light Infantry. This item is a non-motorised model intended for display purposes and is approximately OO gauge (1:76 scale).
