A mid-century modern six-drawer sideboard or double chest of drawers, dating from the mid-20th century, circa 1950s-1960s. The piece is finished in a decorative bird’s-eye maple-effect laminate or veneer, characterised by a light-toned swirling grain pattern across all visible surfaces. The configuration consists of three columns of two drawers, totalling six drawers in a symmetrical arrangement. Each drawer is mounted with a single circular brass-toned ring pull handle. The unit features a flat rectangular top with a low, integrated back gallery or upstand. It is supported by a shaped underframe with four splayed and tapered legs, typical of the period’s aesthetic. No maker’s marks are visible on the exterior; a contemporary white rectangular lot sticker with the handwritten number 60 is located on the top right corner.
