A ceramic pedestal bowl manufactured by the Franz Anton Mehlem factory in Bonn, Germany, dating from the late 19th or early 20th century. The vessel is of flared, rounded form and is supported by an integrated pedestal base finished in a muted sage green glaze. The exterior is decorated with a naturalistic scene depicting two long-billed birds, likely woodcocks or snipes, in a marshland landscape. The scene is set against a matte, blended background of pale blue and soft pink tones. The underside of the bowl features a printed factory mark in dark ink with a central tower or castle device containing a monogram, positioned above the word BONN and below the name FRANZ ANT. MEHLEM, with GERMANY inscribed in an arc at the base.
