Lot 397 A Pair of George V Sterling Silver-Mounted Cut Glass Dressing Table Bottles, Robert Pringle and Sons, Birmingham, 1918

A pair of antique George V dressing table or perfume bottles of flattened, elliptical form. The bodies are crafted from clear cut glass and feature deep-cut geometric patterns, including central starburst motifs and vertical fluting, finished with star-cut bases. Each bottle is fitted with a plain, polished sterling silver collar and a matching circular cap. The silver mounts are struck with a full set of British hallmarks for the Birmingham Assay Office. Based on the maker’s mark and provenance, the silver is attributed to the manufacturing silversmiths Robert Pringle and Sons.

Standard Mark: Lion Passant indicating .925 sterling silver
Assay Office Mark: Anchor for Birmingham
Date Letter: Lowercase t within a square shield with clipped corners, corresponding to the year 1918.
