A traditional rectangular picnic hamper constructed from woven natural willow with reinforced horizontal banding and a hinged lid. The basket is fitted with a central brown moulded plastic carry handle and two brown synthetic leather fastening straps with metal buckles. The design and materials are characteristic of utility picnic ware produced in the mid-to-late 20th century, similar in style to examples by manufacturers such as Brexton or Sirram. No maker’s marks or labels are visible to the exterior.
