This collection consists of thirteen pieces of vintage promotional barware, primarily focused on ceramic water jugs for various spirit brands, predominantly Scotch whisky. The assortment includes a white glazed White Horse Whisky jug with a yellow transfer-printed label; a bulbous red glazed Haig Whisky jug featuring a black printed royal warrant crest; a squat black glazed Teacher’s Whisky jug with gold-toned lettering; and a green glazed commemorative tankard depicting H.M.S. Belfast with a silver-lustre rim.
The group further contains a cream glazed Chivas Regal 12 Year Old Scotch Whisky jug with a maroon and gold band; a tall black glazed Long John Scotch Whisky jug with finger indents; a square-bodied black glazed John Player Special jug accompanied by a branded black plastic and metal optic pourer; a tan/olive square-bodied J&B Scotch Whisky jug; a tall cream glazed Whyte & Mackays Scotch Whisky jug with a double lion logo; and a tall black glazed The Antiquary De Luxe Old Scotch Whisky jug with gold lettering.
Completing the collection are a small white Dewar’s White Label jug with blue and red text; a tall white glazed Pepsi jug featuring the classic tricolour logo; and a tall, rectangular dark green Gordon’s Special Dry London Gin jug noting a content volume of 1.13 litres. Most items feature transfer-printed graphics and branding. While many jugs of this style were produced by potteries such as Wade, no specific maker’s marks are clearly visible in the provided images.
