A vintage cast iron figure of a rooster, designed for use as a doorstop. The cockerel is modelled in a standing position with a prominent, arching tail. The piece features polychrome cold-painted decoration, including a bright red comb and wattles, a yellow beak, and a body finished in shades of orange, cream, and brown. The rooster is perched upon a dark-coloured integral base adorned with clusters of blue-painted fruit, possibly grapes or berries. The reverse of the casting is flat and unpainted, characteristic of traditional doorstop construction. No maker’s marks or inscriptions are visible.
