This Victorian style chest of drawers is constructed from solid pine, featuring a natural stripped finish that reveals the prominent knots and grain of the wood. The configuration consists of three short drawers in the top row, over two subsequent rows each containing two deeper drawers, providing a seven-drawer storage arrangement. The drawers are flush-fitting and equipped with turned wooden knobs. The unit is supported by a solid plinth base which includes a shaped decorative apron. Secondary timbers used for the interior drawer construction are typical of this period and style. No maker marks or labels are present on the piece.
