A mid-century modern chest of four drawers from the Librenza or Tola and Black range by G-Plan, manufactured by E. Gomme Ltd. The unit features a tola (African mahogany) wood veneered carcass with a rectangular top and sides. The four full-width drawer fronts are finished in a contrasting off-white lacquer, each fitted with two brass-toned hoop handles. The chest is supported by a black-painted wooden base with four tapered, splayed legs, each terminating in adjustable brass-capped feet. The drawers feature machine-cut dovetail joints and are lined with a light-coloured secondary timber. An embossed gold maker’s mark is present inside a drawer, consisting of a stylized circular logo containing the letters E and G, followed by the capital letters G-PLAN.
