A footed earthenware bowl produced by the Franz Anton Mehlem factory in Bonn, Germany, dating to the late 19th or early 20th century. The vessel is of rounded form and is raised on a flared circular foot. The exterior is decorated with a transfer-printed and tinted landscape scene depicting mallard ducks in flight over a marshy water setting with reeds and trees. The scene is set against a graduated polychrome ground transitioning from a teal-green base to a pale lavender-pink rim. The rim is finished with a dark, thin border. The underside features a green stamped factory mark with a stylized tower motif above the word BONN, a banner inscribed FRANZ ANT. MEHLEM, and the word GERMANY printed in a curved font.
