This is a decorative cast composition figure of a Crowned Buddha, presented in a traditional Southeast Asian style. The figure is seated in the dhyanasana or meditative posture with hands held in the dhyana mudra gesture of meditation. It is adorned with a tall, three-pointed crown and robes draped over the left shoulder. The figure sits on a tiered double lotus pedestal that rests on a flared decorative base. The item is finished with a gold-coloured gilding over a dark reddish-brown ground. Based on its material and construction, this is a 20th-century decorative piece rather than a liturgical antique.
Height: approximately 30 cm – 35 cm.
