A late 20th-century commemorative historical reference poster and aviation art print titled Luftwaffe Battle of Britain. The piece features a central colour illustration by George A. Campbell depicting flight and ground crews of Kampfgeschwader 51 (KG 51) Edelweiss preparing a Junkers Ju 88 medium bomber. According to the printed caption at the bottom, the scene illustrates preparations for a raid on Ventnor RDF Station, Isle of Wight, on 12 August 1940, and includes depictions of Leutnant Franz-Josef Hehl and Oberst Dr. Johann-Volkmar Fisser. The central artwork is bordered by a comprehensive collection of over 50 multi-colour unit emblems representing various wings of the German Air Force, including Jagdgeschwader, Kampfgeschwader, and the Legion Condor. Notable insignias include the ‘Pik-As’ (Ace of Spades), ‘Grünherz’ (Green Heart), and the ‘Totenkopf’ (Death’s Head). Each emblem is identified by small printed text below the shield. The top of the poster bears the title Luftwaffe Battle of Britain separated by the Luftwaffe eagle emblem. The print is produced on paper using modern multi-colour lithographic techniques.
