An early 20th-century coastal harbour scene in a naive or folk-art style, rendered in watercolour with gouache highlights on paper. The composition features a prominent lighthouse and a cluster of buildings on a rugged shore to the left. A long pier with the masts of several moored vessels extends into the sea. In the foreground, a small rowing boat containing two figures navigates through choppy, white-capped waves. The work is housed in a heavy, dark-stained wooden frame with a moulded gilt inner slip. There are faint, indistinct handwritten marks and a possible date of 1911 in the lower right corner.
