A George III style mahogany bow-fronted chest of drawers of traditional proportions. The chest features a bow-fronted configuration comprising two short drawers over three long, graduated drawers. The drawer fronts are finished with flame mahogany veneers and characteristic cockbeaded edges. The unit is fitted with turned wooden knobs and is supported by splayed bracket feet joined by a shaped apron. The primary timber is mahogany with decorative mahogany veneers on the drawer fronts. Faint circular indentations are visible on the drawer fronts around several of the knobs, suggesting these may be later replacements for original brass plate or ring handles.
