An Italian Neoclassical style oak side cabinet, designed in the Tuscan manner and attributed to the Bernhardt Furniture Company. This single-piece unit is constructed from oak with a medium brown stain. The top features an inset rectangular marble slab with mottled markings in shades of rouge, grey, and white, seated within a stepped wooden border. The front is composed of two cupboard doors with raised panels and gilt metal beading, fitted with decorative cast metal scroll handles. The canted front corners are embellished with foliate-style metal mounts. The cabinet rests on a deep moulded plinth base with carved scroll details to the front corners. No maker’s marks or labels are visible.
