A George III style mahogany kneehole desk or dressing table. The rectangular top is fitted with an inset leather writing surface featuring a decorative gold-tooled border. The arrangement of drawers includes a wide central drawer situated above a shaped and arched kneehole apron, flanked on either side by two drawers. Each drawer front is embellished with boxwood stringing inlay and is fitted with brass swan-neck handles set upon oval backplates. The piece is supported by four square tapered legs. The timber exhibits a dark mahogany tone with visible grain.
