A Victorian trunk of rectangular form, fabricated from riveted galvanised sheet metal with reinforced edges and corners. The exterior retains a distressed black painted finish. The hinged lid is secured by two heavy-duty wrought metal hasps. Each end is fitted with an iron drop-handle for transport. The base is reinforced with two longitudinal wooden runners. One side of the lid features a large painted capital M in a serif font, rendered in faded yellow paint. There are traces of further illegible lettering to the top of the lid. The interior is finished in plain galvanised metal and includes a partitioned section at one end. it also hs wheels underneath
