A 1970s Mid-Century Modern six-drawer sideboard or low chest. The piece is finished in a highly figured burl-effect laminate in blonde and honey tones, featuring a thick, high-gloss polyester topcoat. The front is configured with six drawers arranged in two rows of three, with each drawer fitted with a single circular brass-toned ring pull. The carcass is mounted on a light-toned solid wood base frame with splayed, tapered legs. The internal construction consists of particle board, which is visible at areas of damage. This style of high-gloss laminate furniture was a prevalent aesthetic in the United Kingdom furniture market during the late 1960s and 1970s. No maker’s marks or labels are visible on the piece.
