A set of dining chairs manufactured by James H. Sutcliffe and Son Ltd, comprising two carver chairs with armrests and several matching side chairs. The chairs are constructed from a warm-toned hardwood and are designed in a late 20th-century style with Mid-Century Modern influences. Each chair features a tall, arched fan-shaped back containing six slender curved vertical slats and is supported on tapered legs. The padded seats are upholstered in a grey-green 100% acrylic fabric. A manufacturer’s label is attached to the underside of the seating, bearing the name James H. Sutcliffe and Son Ltd and a date of manufacture of 6/7/92. The label further identifies the fillings as CMHR foam and notes compliance with the Furniture and Furnishings (Fire) (Safety) Regulations 1988.
