Description
A die-struck commemorative badge for the 1936 National Labour Day, also known as a Tag der Arbeit tinnie. The item is manufactured from a silver-toned aluminium alloy. The obverse design features a national eagle clutching a wreathed swastika on the left side. The central motif depicts three figures representing the German workforce: a labourer with a hammer, a farmer with a sickle and crops, and a professional figure holding a scroll. The right-hand margin contains the embossed capitalised inscription TAG DER ARBEIT. The year of issue is indicated by the digits 19 above and 36 below the eagle wing. The badge is oval in shape and horizontally oriented. No maker marks are visible as the reverse is not shown.
