Lot 373:
Description
A contemporary hand-blown studio glass ewer or handled vase. The piece features a bulbous lower body tapering to a tall, cylindrical neck with a slightly thickened rim and a single, thick applied glass handle. The body is decorated with an internal mottled pattern of amber and reddish-brown tones. The exterior surface is treated with a metallic lustre, creating a strong iridescence with flashes of purple, blue, and gold, most prominent on the handle and around the rim. The style is characteristic of late 20th-century studio glass production, such as that from the Isle of Wight or Mdina, although no maker marks or signatures are visible.
