Description
A Susie Cooper earthenware coffee service in the Falcon shape, pattern number 1687. The service is constructed from glazed earthenware with a two-tone colour scheme, featuring a pale cream exterior and a peachy-pink interior and lid. The decoration consists of a repeating pattern of small gold-tone stars. The set comprises one tall, lidded coffee pot with a curved spout and loop handle, one cream jug, two coffee cans, and six matching saucers. The rims, handles, and lid finial are finished with gilt highlights. The base of the coffee cans bears a printed script mark in tan underglaze reading 1687 Susie Cooper England. This mark was used by Susie Cooper Potteries in Staffordshire, England, during the mid-20th century.
