Description
This lot comprises two antique typewriters of American manufacture. The first is a Hammond Multiplex model, characterised by its distinctive curved keyboard and revolving shuttle typing mechanism. The body is finished in black with gold-toned Hammond and Multiplex decals and bears the mark MADE IN U.S.A. It is housed within its original wooden carrying case which features a blue fabric-lined interior. The second machine is a Royal portable typewriter featuring a standard QWERTY keyboard with circular glass-topped keys. The ROYAL brand mark is visible on the paper table, and a partial manufacturer mark for the Royal Typewriter Co., Inc. is located on the front lower frame. This model is finished in black and features glass side panels.
