Lot 300:
Description
A trio of decorative figurines cast in a classical Greco-Roman style. The collection includes a standing female nude figure after the Aphrodite of Milos, a seated youth removing a thorn from his foot known as the Spinario, and a crouching male athlete holding a discus. Each piece is composed of a moulded off-white composite material, commonly referred to as bonded alabaster or reconstituted stone. The figures feature a matte finish with a dark wash applied to the recessed details to simulate an antique patina. These items are characteristic of Italian-made gallery reproductions from the late 20th century, often associated with workshops such as those of A. Santini or G. Ruggeri, though no marks are present on the bases.
