Description
A mid-20th-century British table radio manufactured by Radio Rentals Ltd, identified as Model 62. The unit is housed in a dark brown bakelite cabinet featuring stepped Art Deco style shoulders. The front elevation consists of a horizontal louvred speaker grille to the left and a large rectangular glass tuning dial to the right. The dial displays three frequency bands: Short Wave, Medium Wave, and Long Wave, with various international and domestic station names including USA BBC, London, Scottish, and Moscow I. Below the dial and grille are four circular brown bakelite control knobs for power/volume, tuning, and wave range selection. An embossed square mark containing the stylised letters RR is located on the bottom left of the front cabinet. The number 62 is printed within decorative boxes at the top corners of the dial glass. The reverse features a secured back panel with a riveted metal plaque inscribed:
