Lot 238:
Description
A mid-20th-century art glass novelty bowl or catchall, hand-formed in the shape of a top hat. The piece is crafted from transparent glass in a vibrant cerulean blue colour, featuring a hand-manipulated, wavy brim. The edge of the brim is finished with a contrasting dark navy or black glass rim. A scalloped gold foil label is present on the interior of the brim; while a circular emblem and several lines of text are visible, they are not sufficiently legible for definitive manufacturer identification. The form, technique, and label type are consistent with Venetian glass production from the 1950s or 1960s.
