Description
This framed needlepoint tapestry, in the Gobelin style, depicts the biblical scene of The Last Supper after the mural by Leonardo da Vinci. The work is executed in wool-work using a palette of blues, greens, terracottas, and ochres. The composition features Christ and his twelve apostles at the long table. The piece is housed in a simple, dark-stained rectangular wooden frame and is glazed behind glass. No maker’s marks or signatures are visible on the front of the work.
