Description
Attributed to Country Corner, this vintage-style wooden wall sign is of planked construction with a shaped arched top and a projecting lower shelf. The sign features a hand-painted scene depicting a chef in a toque and white tunic tasting from a dish. Applied three-dimensional wooden elements include a green-painted bottle and a turned chalice positioned on the lower ledge. The upper section is inscribed with the text GOOD FOOD FINE WINE in stylised black lettering against a yellow ground. The bottle label features corresponding hand-painted text. The piece is executed in a folk-art pub sign style with an antiqued colour palette of browns, yellows, and greens. This item is consistent with the restaurant-style decorative plaques produced by Country Corner.
