Description
A mid-century modern low open bookcase or shelf unit, dating from the 1960s. The construction consists of teak-veneered panels with a warm grain. The unit is open-fronted and contains a single interior shelf which is height-adjustable via a series of pre-drilled pin holes in the side panels. A notable design feature includes darker-toned caps on all four top and bottom corners, indicating the piece may have been part of a modular or sectional stacking system. The unit is raised on four short, tapered legs. While the form and corner details are similar to the Basic Cabinet Series designed by George Nelson for Herman Miller, there are no visible maker’s marks, stamps, or labels to confirm a specific attribution.
