Description
A mid-century modern rattan swivel lounge chair, in the manner of Paul Frankl, circa 1970s. The chair is constructed with a deep, rounded basket-form seat and integrated arms and backrest, formed from steam-bent rattan poles. The vertical supports are secured to a circular top rail and reinforced with decorative rattan wraps at the joinery. The seat is mounted onto a substantial, tapered cylindrical plinth base formed from horizontal, stacked rattan coils. This design is frequently associated with the Palm Beach Regency aesthetic.
