Description
An Italian rattan lounge chair, attributed to the BP16 Continuum design by Gio Ponti, dating to the mid-20th century, circa 1960s. The chair is constructed from a steam-bent rattan frame with a natural finish. It features a continuous, reclined back and seat composed of horizontal rattan slats, supported by integral curved armrests. The primary joints are reinforced with decorative and functional flat cane binding. The design is characteristic of Italian mid-century conservatory furniture.
